Go Green with E-Giving

As an alternative to paper giving, a person may select one of two electronic means:
a) E-payment, which utilizes their own banking institution to actually remit a check to WUMC
b)Electronic Fund Transfer, which utilizes WUMC’s vender, VancoServices, a protected, safe, highly professional means of withdrawal from their banking institution to WUMC’s.

E-Payment by Check

You can support the ministries of the Wethersfield United Methodist Church by utilizing your bank's "e-payment" system for tithing.  Most banks provide this service free of charge.

Instead of putting your paper check or cash in the offering plate during the service or mailing it to the church, you can log into your bank's "e-payment" system and submit your offering.  Through this method you will be able to more closely track your contributions.  This method is completely voluntary and you can use it as a permanent replacement for paper checks or just occasionally, like when you cannot attend worship service.

Please use the following procedures so that your offering can be properly credited to you:

1) Log into your bank's e-payment website (contact your bank directly for specific instructions).

2) Set up "Wethersfield United Methodist Church" as a vendor.

3) For an "account number" please use WUMC followed by the number pre-printed on your offering envelopes. As an example, if your box number is 222 then your account number would be WUMC-222.  If you don't have any preprinted envelopes, then please use your first initial and last name as example WUMC-JSmith.

The church's information is:

150 Prospect Street, Wethersfield, CT 06109
                  Phone: (860) 529-2025

4) When you submit a payment, in the "memo" field, please type which service you normally attend (8:45am or 10:30am).

5) You can also submit payments for missions or special giving by indicating it clearly on the memo field as well.  We ask that you make a separate submission for any special or mission giving.  Please place on the memo field your amount toward the Annual Operating Expenses and any additional amount toward Mortgage Reduction on the FLC.

6) Submit the payment.  Your bank with then generate a check and mail it to the church.  When the check is received at the church office, it will be included in the next bank deposit and it will be credited to you.

Please note this process can be automated to occur on weekly or monthly bases once this setup has been completed.

Remember – this program is completely voluntary – you can continue to submit your offering in the normal way.  This is simply an alternative for those people who wish to take advantage of an electronic method of tithing.

Electronic Fund Transfer

As an alternative to E-Payment by Check, you may also contribute through automatic weekly, semi-monthly or monthly transfers directly from your bank account to the church's bank account. EFT Authorization Forms are available in the church office, (860) 529-2025, Press 2.
